Just as in a marital spat or a typical argument between friends, the real loser is the one who goes too far saying things they can’t take back and will regret. Blame it on the heat of the moment or emotions run amok… sorry I said all that etc. but I’m sorry, the vicious over-the-top rhetoric prize definitely belongs to the Democrats.

How could you not be embarrassed by the things you said? Words matter. Ted Cruz spoke 21 hours straight, but look at the content of what he said. Was it a vile or personal attack? No, it was a discussion of policy. He wasn’t using words like jihad or bomb or hostage, and he was exercising his rights as a US Senator to speak out. He wasn’t a stenographer speaking out of turn… he was within his rights the whole time. He did stir up a nest of bees though, oh my… to think, someone would dare speak truth in this chamber!
