Well, it’s out there now, and you are probably aware…

of the bombshell story that Russians conducted Information Warfare against the very heart of our democracy.

And I thought to myself, what might be the Russians’ next step? Well, listen up folks, because I think I might know.

• Move some operatives to actually live in the USA

Yes, perhaps the Russians have caught wind of the aspect of modern American society called sanctuary cities. They have learned that it’s actually possible now to come here as a student and simply overstay your visa, and then move to these hidden “sanctuary” communities such as New York and San Francisco, and just live there! It’d be so much easier to get involved with US political processes when you’re here on the ground.

• Put Pressure on Congressmen and women to change the constitution and allow these Russians to stay on forever, along with their kids and relatives as complete citizens

It may seem a very far reach to think this could ever work, but Russians can look to the pioneering work of Luis Gutiérrez among many others to gain insight into what’s possible. Gutiérrez has even offered to build a border wall out of his own money in order to help people who overstayed their visas. He could do it for the Russians.

In fact Gutiérrez could even get involved in helping out the Russians by drafting a document on how they might move forward in their quest to become full-time residents on their own separate path towards citizenship – scratch that, I mean full-time living-here-status.

• March on Washington

Yet again we have the Dreamers to thank for this bit of genius. March from New York (which would be the secret sanctuary home of the Russians) to Washington D.C. with the full weight of the media on your side, taking photos, appearing on major news programs from MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN and others. This might be the Russians biggest challenge, since it would go against the mainstream media’s aim to impeach Donald Trump, and the “Russian Collusion” mantra has been a big selling point of that. Giving voice to these particular illegal immigrants might spell bad optics for those media outlets, unless… wait for it, unless the Russians pretend to support Democrats!

• Invent a Catchy Hashtag such as #ProtectRussians

This should be easy enough for these computer geniuses. Work up a hashtag and actually incorporate it into the political mainstream, getting people like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi to stand in front of the American electorate holding up a big sign: #ProtectRussians

If they can get to that point, it’s very safe to say our democracy is indeed in real danger! There truly is a lot of work left to be done to get that far, but the Russians are innovative and hard working. They can follow our very own #Dreamers and inch towards the day when they too can influence policy on a broad scale.

It’s becoming worrisome. Imagine if foreigners became involved in our very political process without our permission? What will we do? What if they produce articles, blog posts, and even march on Washington trying to effect change on their own selfish behalf? How can Americans figure out what’s real or not anymore? Would we then be required to think for ourselves and make decisions based on what benefits this country? As in #MAGA? I don’t think we can do it, and thus I guess it’s time to surrender. Y’all go ahead and take over, because we can’t stand up for ourselves anymore. It’s too hard.

I’m kidding. Of course the Russian story is of slight interest, but let’s wake up and smell the hypocrisy. We have used foreign intervention into our political system intentionally for so many years. And guess what? Russians have had hackers messing around since before there was a Myspace or Paypal. We’ll handle it. How about a little help from the Democrats?

Final Thought

I want to also mention that a way for the Russians, and any citizen of the world to get involved in the American system is to apply for citizenship. Go ahead and live the dream. All are welcome, although you’d be more welcome if you started off by following the rules. Thank you very much and good night.
